Description: Fabrication and painting of all sets of scenery of the opera
Crescent Bronze was requested by Ravenswood Studios to supply over 30 gallons of paint for the set of Florida Grand Operaās production of Aida. The studio worked with designer Allen Charles to produce the largest opera set it had ever constructed.
After the set pieces were carved, hard coated, and painted, they needed to be transported in semi trailers between four major cities. Besides great color, Crescent Bronzeās real metallic flakes provided the necessary durability to allow the set pieces to travel without causing aesthetic damage.
The towering sets eschew Egyptian clichƩs for an abstract sweep of clean-lined monoliths, art deco statues and design, moody marbled greens, sleek whites, and mysterious lighting that you knew you were in Egypt.
Commissioned to last 20 years, only durable coatings were used in the construction of the Aida set pieces. Crescent Bronze products provided the luster of a real gold tomb and transformed foam carvings into 25 feet tall golden statues and accurately colored Egyptian artifacts
